Grooming can be a stressful experience for certain dogs, particularly those who are older, young, overweight, or have medical conditions. It is important to note that the grooming process may reveal unknown medical conditions or worsen existing ones. To ensure the well-being of your pet, Pob Pawen Grooming requires permission to seek emergency veterinary treatment if deemed necessary. While we will make every effort to contact you before taking your pet for treatment, there may be instances where immediate action is required. Please be aware that unless we are found to be negligent, all medical expenses will be the responsibility of the owner. 

Elderly, Infirm, Overweight or Young Dogs Disclaimer

For elderly, infirm, overweight, or young dogs, a full groom can be physically demanding and potentially stressful. Although Pob Pawen provides additional support for these dogs, we cannot guarantee that they will be able to support themselves adequately throughout the grooming process, which could pose serious health risks. There is also an increased risk of cuts, grazes, and other injuries. Pob Pawen reserves the right to stop the grooming process at any time, with full payment due upon collection of your dog.

Vaccinations 

It is essential that owners confirm that their dog is up to date with their annual vaccinations against Parvovirus and distemper vaccines. An unvaccinated dog may put itself and others at risk. Pob Pawen takes no responsibility for any dog that contracts these diseases. Proof of vaccination and veterinary information may be requested. 

Fleas & Ticks

To maintain a tick- and flea-free environment, we ask that grooming appointments be rescheduled if your dog has a parasitic infestation. A notice of 48 hours must be provided to avoid a cancellation charge. We recommend consulting your veterinary surgeon for the best treatment. If fleas are found on your dog, we will use flea shampoo and conduct additional disinfection, resulting in an additional charge of £15. If ticks are found, a charge of £5 will be added for removal. We are not responsible for any infection caused by ticks or their removal. 

Coat Condition & De-Matting Disclaimer

If a dog’s coat is neglected and matted, it may be necessary to remove the coat rather than attempt to de-mat it. This decision will be made in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. While we will make every effort to identify matting during the pre-groom consultation, there may be instances where the extent of matting is not fully apparent until the grooming process begins. In such cases, we will do what we believe is in the best interest of the dog’s welfare. Clipping a matted coat may reveal sore, reddened, and irritated skin due to lack of air circulation. The process of de-matting increases the risk of injury, a £15 de matting fee will be charged and additional charges may be incurred for equipment wear, additional products used, and the time and skill needed. 

Behavioural & Aggression

Owners must inform Pob Pawen Grooming of any known aggressive or nervous behaviours their dog may exhibit towards other animals or humans. Charges for such behaviours will be determined based on severity and the resources required for grooming. If a dog bites, the owner is responsible for related medical bills, loss of earnings, and equipment damage. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe a dog may pose a danger. In such cases, the grooming session may be terminated, and the full fee will be charged. 

Time Keeping

Pob Pawen Dog Grooming adheres to a strict time frame to ensure each dog receives adequate grooming and care. Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time, as early arrival may not guarantee immediate access. If you are more than 15 minutes late for collection, a late collection charge may be applied. 

Pricing & Cancellations

Prices provided are estimates only, and additional charges may be incurred for overweight dogs, unkept coats, aggressive or nervous dogs requiring extra handling, fleas and ticks, and dogs requiring additional handling for any reason. Cancellations must be made with 48 hours’ notice to avoid the full grooming charge. 

Pob Pawen Dog Grooming does not groom pregnant or in-season bitches and does not provide services for dogs covered under the Dangerous Dogs Act. If your bitch is in season during a pre-booked appointment, 48 hours’ notice must be provided to avoid a cancellation charge. 

Hold Harmless Agreement

By using our services, you agree to hold Pob Pawen Dog Grooming, its owners, employees, and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the dog, whether known or unknown to us. This agreement may be subject to change without notice and supersedes any prior contracts or releases. This clause applies to all dogs groomed.

To provide the requested services, we are required to obtain and store a limited amount of your personal information. This information will be stored in compliance with relevant legislation, will not be shared with any third parties or organisations, and will only be used for the purpose of providing requested or related services.
